This month we held a Golden Age Legend event at Fantasy Wargames in Luton (UK), which was very well attended with a wonderful selection of decks.
We chose Golden Age specifically because a lot of the players in Luton have only recently started playing Vs again. A lot of people dropped away after the X-Men expansion but in the last six-months, the player base has grown strongly.
Today is Thursday, that means it’s time for my Vs. System related Thursday Thirteen! In the world of Vs, we’re in preview season, so for today’s T13, I’m going to list a baker’s dozen of my favourite preview cards I’ve been fortunate enough to have unleashed on the world. This hobby of mine has some great perks sometimes, and a few times a year in the build up to a new expansion release, I get to have a little advanced knowledge of one or two cards and then share them with the world through the medium on interwebernet articles. For those who have been complaining about a lack of activity on VS System.com recently, Monday 31st March was a good day. Not only did we see a all-new edition of Ryan Alarie’s Spin Doctoring, but we also got a great Vs System update from “The” Ben Seck.
As someone who came into the game of Vs. System with no comic background knowledge, I find myself lacking and feeling a little estranged when I hear folks debating and dancing around the quirks and characteristics that make up our roster of heros and villains. I’ve begun to feel a draw toward the comics the longer I play this game and I’ve recently bought a few graphic novels. Now I’m not the sort to start subscribing to monthly comics, but I am interested in reading some meatier content on some of the names in the game. With that in mind, I’m looking for some help from the more educated, in terms of comic culture. These are the thirteen characters I’m interested in reading about.
